Earla Mae Wrinkles, 96, of Licking, passed away June 16, 2018, with her family by her side at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston. Earla was born on Oct. 24, 1921, in Blanche, Mo., the daughter of Ramoth and Hattie (Bell) McCleary.

Earla married her childhood friend, Leslie Wrinkles, in April 1946. To this union six children were born, Donald, Helen, Pamela, Judy, Billy, and Teresa.

Earla was a caregiver to her disabled mother, having to leave school in fifth grade. In her younger years, Earla loved gardening, fishing, camping and cooking. She was one of the best cooks around. You never left her house hungry.

She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She would light up when her great-grandchildren, Savannah and Harley, would visit her.

Earla is survived by her six children, Donald (Linda) of Licking, Helen Scherer (Gail “Bud”) of Vanzant, Pamela Langford (Dennis) of Salem, Judy Langley (Paul) of Bristow, Okla., Billy (Karen) of Beulah and Teresa Smith (Charles) of Licking; 11 grandchildren, Angela Owen, Matthew Wrinkles, Gary Greer, Alan Wrinkles, Leslie Wrinkles, Sarah Hobbs, Morgan Smith, Jennifer Holt, Dacia Trentham, Travis Holt, and Cheyenne Wallace; and nine great-grandchildren, Kaleb Owen, Leann Wrinkles, Lucas Wrinkles, Savannah Hobbs, Harley Chambers, Lucas Jones, Taitan Holt, Zoey Wallace, and Emma Wallace.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Wrinkles; brothers, Ray McCleary, Claude McCleary and Lowell McCleary; a sister, Verla Owen; and her parents.

A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at Fox Funeral Home, 128 S. Main St, in Licking with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. Officiant will be her son-in-law, Bud Scherer. Inurnment will follow at Beulah Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Earla’s name to Beulah Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Fox Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at www.foxfh.net.
