Sixteen students graduated last month as part of the Accelerated LPN to RN class of 2018 from Texas County Technical College.
The ceremony was held May 5 at Life Church in Houston. The graduates were: Scotty Wilkerson of Norwood, Samantha Smith of Salem, Glenda Botkin of Salem, Trisha O’Neil of Houston, Paige Church of Salem, Erika Abbey of West Plains, Jessica Harris of Edgar Springs, Tami Trautz of Florissant, Jessica Williams of Summersville, Vicki Bond of Cabool, Camelia Griffith of Winona, Sarah West of Winona, Jasmine Freitas of Houston, Amy Lybyer of Mountain Grove, Tosha Baney of Salem and Hanna McBride of Winona.
The graduates were Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and chose to further their education in the Accelerated LPN to RN program at TCTC. They completed three semesters, including a summer semester used to transition into a leadership mindset, multiple simulation and skills labs and clinical rotations at local hospitals, clinics and long-term care facilities. The graduates are now scheduling their test dates to take the NCLEX-RN exam to earn licensure.
TCTC said applications for the May 2019 Accelerated LPN to RN program are being accepted. The next Practical Nursing (LPN) program begins in August. For more information, call 417-967-5466.
