Authorities said a search warrant was executed last week at the Texas County Sheriff’s Department, which is under investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Missouri attorney general’s office.
“A search warrant has been executed and the investigation is ongoing,” said Mary Compton, press secretary for Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol declined comment and said all statements to the public will be made from the Jefferson City office of Hawley.
Authorities announced in late April that two employees of the department were under investigation amid an exodus of many county deputies.
Investigators with Troop D of the patrol were assigned the case and are conducting interviews with numerous people.
