Sales tax revenue was down in Houston during the last monthly distribution.

Sales tax revenue was up about 13.2 percent in the latest monthly distribution in Texas County, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.

The total from each half-cent sales tax was $101,315, which was up about $11,777 from May 2017. There are three half-cent sales collected by merchants that are used for debt repayment on the county justice center, maintenance and county operations.

In the first five months of the year, collections totaled about $446,570, which is up about $21,437 from 2017.
