ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT POST

The City of Houston will seek applications until Aug. 2 from persons wanting to become the community’s next economic development director.

The city says the position, which became vacant with the transfer of Brad Evans to the Houston Police Department, includes overseeing the community’s economic development program, including grant writing, business retention, new business start-up and retail development while promoting and encouraging programs that enhance the city’s quality of life.

Persons with additional questions about the position can contact City Administrator Tona Bowen.
