The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
•A deputy was dispatched at about 4:20 p.m. July 7 regarding a report of a neighbor shooting a gun toward a Possum Trot Road residence at Raymondville.
A man who lives there told the officer there had been issues in the past with a neighbor shooting toward his home while doing target practice. The deputy went to the neighbor’s house and spoke with several people there and determined that a Fourth of July party was in progress and fireworks were being used.
•A 67-year-old Licking man reported on June 1 that two Stihl 660 chainsaws had been stolen from a building at his Baxter Road residence at Licking. There are no suspects.
•A 34-year-old Cabool woman reported on July 7 that her sister’s boyfriend had caused damage by driving through the yard at her Pleasant Road residence.
The woman told an investigating officer that law enforcement was not needed because the area where the boyfriend drove was not in her yard. The officer reportedly observed no damage.
•A 32-year-old Plato man reported on July 3 that his 30-year-old wife had a gun and was threatening to shoot herself at their Slabtown Road residence.
An investigating officer observed that the woman was not armed with a gun. She was taken to a hospital in Rolla for observation.
•A 28-year-old Bucyrus man reported on June 13 that a .22-caliber rifle and a .22-caliber pistol had been stolen from his truck while it was parked at his Highway FF residence at Houston.
The guns were later located in Mountain Grove. A Wright County Sheriff’s Department deputy stated that they were found inside a vehicle during a traffic stop and that two men in the vehicle were convicted felons.
A probable cause statement was sent to the Wright County prosecutor seeking charges against the men. The guns were seized and made available to their owner.
•A Willow Springs man reported on July 5 that a man was under a tree and two other men were in the woods at his Bradford Road residence. The man told an investigating officer that he had been wrong and nobody was under the tree or in the woods.
•A Houston woman reported on July 6 that a white sock containing several syringes had been found on her Morton Road property. An investigating officer took the items and they were disposed of at the TCSD office.
