A man from Licking is charged with two felonies following an incident at Deer Lick Park's baseball fields at Licking.

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A woman came to the TCSD office July 10 to report that at about 10:30 p.m. July 8, someone had been rattling the handle on the door to her Oscar Road residence at Licking.

The woman stated she got her gun and called her brother on the phone, who stayed on the line with her as she went outside and checked the yard. She said she fired a shot into the air as a warning, and then went to her brother’s house and stayed the night.

•A woman reported July 10 that her sister-in-law wouldn’t get out of her car at the woman’s Piney Drive residence at Bucyrus. When investigating deputy arrived, the sister-in-law was gone.

•A woman reported on July 12 that a methamphetamine lab might have been thrown into a trash can at her Highway M residence at Plato. An investigating officer determined that the suspicious trash was not a meth lab. The officer looked inside a nearby shed on the property and found no signs of drug activity.

•A 73-year-old Cabool man reported on July 12 that a 16-month old black angus bull was missing from his Swisher Road property.

The man told an investigating officer the gates to the field where the bull had been were shut and padlocked, except for one bordering his neighbor’s property. The man said there didn’t seem to be signs of entry into the field through that gate, and that the fence lines all seemed intact.

•A woman reported on July 13 that she was the overseer of a closed trailer park on U.S. 63 at Houston, and that a 34-year-old evicted man was refusing to leave.

The woman told an investigating deputy that the man had burned a trailer to the ground and was scrapping metal from it and selling it. The officer observed a twisted trailer frame and ashes from the burned trailer and a stack of metal siding that had been cut into pieces.

The officer attempted to make contact with the man, but was unable to. A probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking charges against the man.

•A 57-year-old woman reported on July 13 that a man had stolen her Volkswagen beetle from her Bear Claw Road residence at Yukon, and broken all of the windows out of the house.

An investigating officer determined the title to the car was under the man’s name. The officer went to the woman’s home to view the window damage and observed that no windows were broken.

•The owner of a retail store at Success called at about 2 p.m. July 14 to report that an 11-year-old boy had come into the store indicating he was lost.

The man told an investigating officer that the boy was not lost, but had gotten into an argument with his mother and run off. While the officer was there, the boy’s stepfather showed up and said he had been looking for the boy since he ran away. The boy was released to his stepfather.

•A Licking woman called July 16 to report that a lady was trying to take her uncle’s car from a Highway N residence at Licking.

The woman said the lady claimed the car had been stolen from her five years ago. When the woman said she had called for law enforcement, the lady reportedly said she didn’t want to get the uncle in trouble, and that she would come back another time for the vehicle.

The officer determined the car’s title was under the uncle’s name. The woman was advised to call the TCSD again if the lady wanting the car showed back up.

•A deputy on July 18 investigated a reported theft of a motorcycle at a Country Aire Lane trailer park at Cabool. A 55-year-old Cabool man is a suspect.
