Summersville emergency personnel responded Saturday afternoon to a crash.

A Bucyrus teen was seriously injured Wednesday night in an ATV accident north of Houston. He was charged with three offenses, including driving while intoxicated

Tpr. Jason Sentman said Levi J. Coats, 18, was the driver of an eastbound 2005 Honda Rancher 500 that swerved to dodge another vehicle in the roadway, ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

Coats was driving on Sand Shoals Road about five miles north of Houston at about 5:35 p.m.

A Texas County Memorial Hospital ambulance crew transported him to the Houston Memorial Airport, where he was airlifted to Cox South in Springfield. Houston firefighters assisted at the airport.

The patrol charged Coats with driving while intoxicated – unlawfully operating an ATV while under the influence of alcohol; operating a motor vehicle and a careless and imprudent manner resulting in an accident; and unlawfully operating an ATV without properly mounting a triangular emblem.
