Sales tax revenue climbed during the latest monthly distribution in Houston, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.

Sales tax revenue collected by Houston merchants was up about 3.5 percent over the same monthly period a year ago, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.

The total from a one-cent sales tax was $51,402, which is up $1,785 from the same period in 2017.

For the first seven months of the year, $413,049 has been collected. That’s nearly unchanged from the prior year.

Retailers also collected two, quarter-cent sales taxes for streets, sidewalks and utility work. Each contributed about $12,318.
