Kalena Marie Freitas, 23, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018, in a car accident.
She was born Oct. 7, 1994, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, daughter of Valoris McNaughton and Tracy Freitas.
She grew up traveling with her family. She attended school at Houston and graduated from Summersville High School in 2013.
She attended school and was a cheerleader at Missouri Valley College, Marshall, when she met Bryce Ash. They were engaged Sept. 6, 2016, and planned to be married in September 2019. She was a receptionist in the medical-surgical department at Texas County Memorial Hospital.
She and her family attended church at New Beginnings Baptist Church, Bucyrus.
She enjoyed taking care of her son, Brylon, reading, taking pictures and shopping. Her greatest love was spending time with her family and friends.
She preceded in death by her fiancé, Bryce Ash.
Survivors include a son, Brylon Michael Ash; her mother, Tracy Freitas and husband, Mike Huffman of Houston; her father, Valoris McNaughton of Licking; two sisters, Jasmine Freitas of Dover, Del., Savannah McNaughton of Houston; a half-sister, Hannah McNaughton of Juneau, Alaska; two step-sisters, Lindsey Woolsey of Mountain View and Haley McCoy of Fordland; and her grandparents.
A celebration of her life was Tuesday, Aug. 21, at New Beginnings Baptist Church, Bucyrus. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home, Houston.
