A four-county area comprises the Sustainable Ozarks Partnership.

The Sustainable Ozarks Partnership — a regional group that promotes the Fort Leonard Wood region — will host its annual meeting on Thursday, Aug. 23.

The meeting is from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at The Ark, 25625 Highway 17, in Waynesville. The theme is “Enduring and Emerging Partnerships: Focused on the Future.”

As in previous years, approximately 150 business, governmental, civic and military leaders and community members from the four-county region (Laclede, Phelps, Pulaski and Texas) will attend. Participants will hear from state and military leaders on the importance of the roles that communities, region and state play in supporting the military and their families, enhancing Fort Leonard Wood’s mission success. 

Confirmed speakers include Missouri Gov. Mike Parson, Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood commanding general, Maj. Gen. Kent Savre, Fort Leonard Wood garrison commander, Col. Eric Towns; Missouri military advocate, Joe Driskill; program director, U.S. department of Defense Office of Economic Adjustment, Jim Holland; and director of policy and business development, Kit Bond Strategies, Mike Dubois.
