American Legion Post No. 41 is seeking funds to send students to Boys State and Girls State next year.
The summer programs provide leadership and citizenship curriculums for high school juniors. The American Legion and its auxiliary unit sponsors the events. Students are elected to various offices, activities include legislative sessions, court proceedings, law enforcement presentations, assemblies, bands, choruses and recreational programs.
The cost is $400 per student. The sponsorship is generated entirely from community donations from citizens, small businesses and corporations. Donations are tax-deductible. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
