Makenzi Arthur had 28 digs in the Houston eighth-grade volleyball team’s 25-20, 25-20 home loss Monday night to Licking.
Olivia Crites and Karlee Curtis had four kills apiece for the Lady Tigers. Karly Drake added two kills. Madison Reed and Gracie Tottingham had three kills apiece. Mackenzie Bryan added two aces.
In the seventh-grade match, Houston lost 27-25, 25-5. The Lady Tigers trailed the opening set 24-13 before Angeline Smith served 11 aces to pull Houston even.
“I have witnessed such great improvement in these girls, and we are getting to where to we need to be,” said HMS volleyball coach JuliAnna Rodgers. “We are finding our groove and making those adjustments we need to build the Houston volleyball program.”
