Houston High School’s 2018 homecoming concluded Sunday.

Festivities for the annual celebration started Friday afternoon with a parade, queen coronation, football game and class reunions. This year’s theme was “Houston, we have a problem solver.”

Friday evening this year’s queen was crowned at Tiger Stadium. The candidates are: freshmen Mackenzie Holder and Ellie Locke; sophomores Kaileigh Barker and Destiny York; juniors Kylie Lane and Hunter Brim; and seniors Haylie Heathington and Savannah McNaughton.

Heathington was crowned.

The football game between Houston and Cabool followed.

On Saturday, the alumni breakfast was at the Houston Senior Center. The alumni mixer occurred inside Hiett Gymnasium. 

The Lions Club fish fry was Sunday at the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds.

SATURDAY 

 

7 a.m. — Alumni breakfast at Houston Senior Center.

 

8 a.m. – 4 p.m. — Romines Motor Co., Drive 4 UR School event.

 

11:30 a.m. — Members of the HHS class of 1953 will meet at the Rocket Digital meeting room.

 

2 p.m. — Alumni mixer at Hiett Gym. A short program will begin at 3 p.m. with alumni updates, scholarship report. There is no charge to attend the mixer.

 

7 p.m. — Class of 1968 mixer at Piney River Brewing Co.

 

6 p.m. — Class of 1978 reunion at the Texas County Fairgrounds. Doors will open at 5 p.m. 

 

SUNDAY 

 

11 a.m. — Lions Club fish fry at the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds community building.
