The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:
•Katherine E. Atkisson, 56, of Hamrick Terrace, Apt. 9, in Houston, was cited for careless and imprudent driving after a two-vehicle accident Sept. 3 on Hawthorn Street.
•Brianne L. Akins, 20, of 8205 Northview Lane, No. 4, in Houston, was issued a citation for driving with a revoked license on Sept. 18.
•Laura A.I. Twyford, 28, of 612 Maple St. in Houston, was issued a citation for a leash law violation on Sept. 20.
An officer wrote the citation after being dispatched to a Bryan Street residence regarding a report of an aggressive dog. A man there told the officer the dog had showed its teeth and growled at him.
City workers tried to catch the dog, but it escaped and was later found in the backyard of a house at 612 Maple St. The occupant of the home – Twyford – was contacted and said the animal belonged to her.
•Joshua D. Carman, 42, of 901 Augusta St. in Houston, was issued a citation for fourth-degree assault after an incident at his residence on Sept. 7 involving a 36-year-old woman.
The woman told an investigating officer that during an argument Carman had slammed her into a wall and then gone outside and thrown a plant through a window that hit her in the head. He was taken to the Texas County Jail for a 12-hour hold period.
•Ronnie K. Bell, 45, of 411 E. Main St. in Houston, was arrested Sept. 18 for having an active Texas County warrant for driving while revoked. An officer made the arrest at Bell’s residence and then took him to jail, where he was unable to post $25,000 bond.
•Lindsey M. Moberly, 21, of 17035 Ridge Road in Houston, was arrested Sept. 16 for having an active Texas County warrant for failure to appear and speeding.
An officer made the arrest after investigating a suspicious vehicle parked in the lot at the Big Red Car Wash. Moberly was a passenger in the vehicle. She was taken to the Texas County Jail where she posted $125.50 bond and was released.
•Erik D. Cornman, 37, of 402 N. Second St. in Houston, was issued a citation for stealing after allegedly getting gas at the Corner Express Shell station and leaving without paying for it at about 12:40 a.m. Sept. 10.
Cornman was also involved in an incident at about 1:50 a.m. Sept. 13.
An officer on patrol observed man riding a bicycle on Grand Avenue that was not equipped with a light facing forward. When the officer stopped the bicyclist – Cornman – a computer check revealed had had two active warrants in Wright County.
When the officer and a second officer who had arrived on scene attempted to handcuff Cornman, he jumped over an adjacent retaining wall and fled on foot on Second Street, failing to obey commands to stop. The officers pursued and found Corman hiding in tall grass next to his residence. He was apprehended and taken to jail.
The warrants for his arrest in Wright County were for failure to appear on a felony drug charge and failure to appear on a misdemeanor drug paraphernalia charge. A report was sent to the county prosecutor.
