Here are investigations handled by the Texas County Sheriff's Department that were released during the last week.

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A deputy was dispatched at about 11 p.m. Aug. 24 regarding a report of a domestic dispute between two women – ages 51 and 29 – at a Piney Drive residence at Bucyrus.

The 51-year-old told the officer the other woman was yelling at her and wouldn’t calm down. The other woman stated she was packing her belongings and was going to stay with a friend.

The officer advised the women that if a deputy had to return within 12 hours, one or both of them would go to jail for domestic assault.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 12:40 a.m. Aug. 24 after a man reported neighbors yelling near his Morton Road residence at Houston. Upon arrival, the officer was unable to hear anyone.

•Two deputies responded at about 12:50 p.m. Aug. 24 to a request from Phelps County authorities to help locate a suicidal person who was perhaps at a lake on Shafer Road at Licking across from the George O. White State Forest Nursery.

The person was said to be driving a gray Mustang and in possession of a .12-gauge shotgun. The officers searched the area but were unable to locate the person.

•A 60-year-old Plato woman reported on Aug. 25 that her 32-year-old daughter was making suicidal remarks to her at their Long Hollow Road residence.

Upon arrival at the house, an investigating deputy observed the two women on the porch arguing. The officer intervened and asked to speak to the daughter.

Noting that she was fidgety, the officer asked for medical purposes if she was under the influence of any drugs. She said she wasn’t.

The officer then asked what her drug of choice was, and she reportedly said “meth.” After further questioning, the woman was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital for evaluation.

•A 56-year-old Licking man reported on Aug. 27 that an ATV had been swiped from his Old Monty Road residence.

When an investigating deputy arrived, the man said the ATV had been found in a ditch a few miles from his home on Cooper Drive. The man said he knew who had taken it and didn’t want to pursue charges.

•A 59-year-old Cabool man reported on Aug. 27 that a radiator had been stolen from his Sunrise Drive residence.

The man told an investigating officer that surveillance video showed a 47-year-old man putting the radiator into the trunk of a car. A probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking charges against the suspect.
