Archie Lloyd Frye, 75, passed away Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at his home near Summersville.
He was born Oct. 26, 1942, in Mountain View, son of Edd and Pauline Smotherman Frye. He married Beverly Love and later married Chris Price.
He served in the Navy from March 1960 to September 1963 and then in the Navy Reserves until March 1966.
He attended high school in Mountain View. He lived many years in Louisiana, where he worked for a monument company sandblasting headstones. He moved to Summersville due to declining health.
He enjoyed his many friends in Louisiana and his fishing buddies.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Shoemaker of Mountain View and Rhonda Foote of Warren, Mich.; a son, Billy Frye of Summersville; a sister, Jean Helton of Summersville; four grandchildren; five nieces; a nephew; and several cousins.
Graveside services were Monday, Oct. 22, in Oakside Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Reagen officiating. Services were under the care of Bradford Funeral Home.
