Benjamin Todd Hickcox, 56, passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, after a long battle with cancer.

He was born Oct. 19, 1961, son of Ray DeWitt and Wilma Ellen Ellifrits Hickcox. He and Sheila Ann Tillman were married May 23, 1981.

His nickname was “chicken man.” He loved spending time with his family and friends. But he was more likely to be found outside fishing, hunting or at a swap meet.

He was in the National Guard for 20-plus years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ray DeWitt Hickcox; his wife, Shelia Ann; and a brother, Ray “Skip” Hickcox, Jr.

Survivors include two children, Melissa Ann Arlint and Benjamin Todd Hickcox Jr.; six grandchildren; his mother, Wilma Ellen Hickcox; six siblings, Valorie Hensley, Sherryn Postlewait, Matthew Hickcox, Michelle Stevens, William “Bill” Hickcox and Daniel Hickcox; and nieces and nephews.

Memorial services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at First Free Will Baptist Church, Houston, with Pastor Danny Delcour officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
