The Houston High School volleyball received the No. 5 seed this week for the upcoming Class 2 District 9 tournament.

The Lady Tigers will play fourth-seeded Mountain Grove at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at Cabool High School. 

Liberty received the district’s top seed and will play the Houston-Mountain Grove winner in the semifinals. Other first-round matchups pair No. 2 Licking against No. 7 Thayer and No. 3 Cabool against No. 6 Plato.

The semifinals are 5 and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23. The championship match follows at 7 p.m.

Houston (8-15-2) and Mountain Grove (14-11-5) haven’t played yet this season. They face each other Tuesday inside Hiett Gymnasium – one week before district play.

The Lady Tigers have three regular-season matches remaining: Thursday at Salem, at home Tuesday against Mountain Grove and Thursday at home against Winona.
