Three persons were injured Saturday in a two-vehicle crash south of Summersville.
Tpr. Marty Wiseman said a southbound 1995 Dodge 1500 pickup driven by Ervin D. Carpenter, 75, of Summersville, failed to yield while attempting a turn on Highway 17 and struck a northbound 2000 Dodge Dakota operated by Ashley N. Beavers, 35, of Mountain View. The mishap occurred six miles south of Summersville at Pine Crest.
Beavers and passengers, Brylee M. Beavers, 9, of Mountain View; and Karon K. Carpenter, 74, were injured. Carpenter was taken by ambulance with moderate injuries to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains. The Beavers pair went by private vehicle to Mercy St. Francis in Mountain View. They had minor injuries.Â
The vehicles were totaled. Everyone was wearing a seat belt, Wiseman said.
Assisting at the scene were Sgt. Dale Pounds and Tpr. Matthew Chastain, the Summersville Fire Department and a Mountain View rescue unit.
