The Houston Police Department recently handled several investigations. 

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:

•Benjamin T. Hickox, 30, of 8227 Fisher Drive in Houston, was arrested Sept. 29 for having an active City of Houston warrant for peace disturbance. An officer made the arrest after a computer check during a traffic stop. Hickox was taken to jail and was released after posting $150 bond.

•Lonnie R. Quick, 31, of 403 N. Grand Ave., Apt. 1, in Houston, was arrested Sept. 24 for having an active Texas County warrant for endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer who knew of the warrant made the arrest at Quick’s residence at about 6:40 p.m. He was taken to the Texas County Jail and held on $250,000 bond.

Sarah Barthe, 36, of 403 N. Grand Ave., Apt. 1, in Houston, was arrested Sept. 21 for having an active Texas County warrant for endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer who was aware of the warrant made the arrest at the Houston police station after Barthe came there to talk with an officer. She was taken to the Texas County Jail and held on $250,000 bond.

•Sonya R. Byrd, 36, of 1000 Howard Drive in Lebanon, was issued a citation for littering on Sept. 14 after allegedly dropping off a pile of trash bags on the front steps of First Free Will Baptist Church on Thomasville Road.

On Sept. 10, a man representing the church reported the bags being dumped. On Sept. 14, an officer made contact with Byrd and she reportedly said she had “placed those items there to be donated to the church.” The officer advised her she had not contacted the church first and that church officials didn’t want the items left there.
