Three members of the Houston High School volleyball team were recognized Wednesday for their 2018 seasons with selections to the all-SCA team.
Melody Buse was one of seven players named to the first team. Teammate Kennedy Campbell was selected to the second team, and Tara Stanton received honorable mention. All three are seniors.
Buse, a libero who was also named all-district, led the South Central Association with 394 digs. She finished with a 2.34 passer rating.
Campbell led Houston with 112 kills and 32 blocks as a middle hitter. She also had 20 aces.
Stanton, also a middle hitter, had 106 kills and 26 blocks to rank second on the team in both categories.
“I’m very proud of these girls and their accomplishments,” HHS coach Loran Richardson said. “These girls wouldn’t have been able to earn this award without their teammates, and I’m proud of all their efforts.”
Liberty’s Ally Smith was named the conference player of the year. Liberty coach Shari Tune was the coach of the year.
