The annual Christmas parade sponsored by the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 on Grand Avenue in downtown Houston.
Chamber executive director Angie Quinlan said the parade lineup will be at 1 p.m. in the Houston High School parking lot.
Prizes will be awarded for the best floats in religious and non-religious categories: $25 for first place, $15 for second and $10 for third.
Entries can call the chamber at 417-967-2220 or simply arrive in time for the lineup.
A Christmas tree is already in place and lighted on the lawn at the Texas County Administrative Center on Grand Avenue.
