Filings will soon open for slots on the Houston City Council and Houston board of education.
Filings open 8 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11 and close 5 p.m. Jan. 15.
The terms of Mayor Don Tottingham and council members Donnie Wilson, Ward I; Jeremy St. John, Ward II; and Kim Bittle, Ward III expire. They are two-year terms.
On the Houston School Board, three-year seats held by Curtis Hubbs and Jennifer Scheets expire.
