The Houston Lady Tigers’ challenging stretch to open the year continues.

After facing Class 5 Camdenton in the season opener, HHS hosted Bradleyville – the preseason No. 1 team in Class 1 – on Tuesday inside Hiett Gymnasium. The Lady Tigers lost 64-33.

It doesn’t get any easier in game No. 3 for Houston (0-2). The Lady Tigers travel Monday to Licking, the fourth-ranked team in Class 3.

Senior forward Ally Morgan scored 11 points to lead HHS. Jaden Stell hit two 3-pointers and scored nine points.

Bradleyville (1-1) scored 20 of the game’s first 22 points. Morgan’s jumper at the 2:57 mark of the first quarter was the Lady Tigers’ only basket in the opening period.

Houston had a strong second quarter, outscoring the Lady Eagles 16-15. But the deficit was still 16 points at the half.

JUNIOR VARSITY: Stell hit three triples and scored nine points as the JV Lady Tigers edged Bradleyville 20-19 in a two-quarter game Tuesday.

Kelly Hubbs added five points. Riley Scheets and Annie Topping scored three apiece.
