A Licking man faces five felony charges after Missouri State Highway Patrol officers served a search warrant at his home Sunday.
As a result of the search, Chad L. Cooper, 40, is charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance (a class C felony) and three counts of possession of a weapon and a felony controlled substance (a class E felony).
According to an MSHP trooper’s report, numerous illegal items were found during the search of the Cooper Drive residence, including significant amounts of both methamphetamine and marijuana. Also found were five rifles of varying calibers.
During questioning, Cooper reportedly told officers he had been selling meth as his main source of income, and had also sold pot. Cooper stated that a woman who was also living in the residence had not been involved in drug sales.
According to a patrol report, about nine pounds of marijuana were found in the house.
Cooper was taken to the Texas County Jail. He was later released after posting $250,000 bond. A Texas County grand jury indictment was unsealed Thursday.
