Misty Dawn Goforth, 44, of Cabool, Mo., passed away Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at Autumn Oaks surrounded by her loving family. She was born Nov. 16, 1973, in Springfield, Mo., to Bob and Shirley (Medlock) Short.

Misty grew up in Mountain Grove, Mo., and later moved to Cabool after she married her true love, Donnie Goforth on April 12, 1995.

Misty was preceded in death by her dad and her grandparents, Grover and Maureen Hopkins, Ruth Short and Cleo Long.

She worked at Cox lab as a phlebotomist and also worked in home healthcare until her health no longer allowed. She then became a stay-at-home momma.

Misty was baptized as a child and recently rededicated her life to God.

Misty truly loved her family. Spending time with her kids and grandkids put a sparkle in her eye. She and her family had many adventures together. Misty enjoyed camping trips with Dusty and Kari and granddaughters, Novey and Rylie. She would get so excited when she got the news that Dakota was coming home. She looked forward every night for Heather to get home so they could discuss her day and watch their nightly shows before dinner.

Before her health declined, she looked forward to opening morning of deer season with Donnie. Her favorite hobby was having her nails look beautiful and keeping everyone on their toes.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Donnie Goforth of the home in Cabool, Mo.; her children, Dusty Goforth and Kari of Houston, Mo., Dakota Goforth and Taylor of Mountain Grove, Mo., and Heather Goforth of Cabool, Mo.; grandchildren, Tyler, Novey, Rylie and Lyncoln that will arrive in December; her mother, Shirley Short of Mountain Grove, Mo.; a brother, Scott Short of Mountain Grove, Mo.; and numerous other family members.

She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and grandmother and will be forever missed.

Visitation is 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018, at Evans Funeral Home with services beginning at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Nick Melton officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Mark Short, Tim Short, Jordan Siegler, Levi Caswell, Michael Claxton and Tristan Short. Honorary pallbearers are Lonnie Neugebauer and Roy Byse.
