The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A deputy responded Nov. 10 after an anonymous caller reported that a 22-year-old man was supplying minors with alcoholic drinks at a party at his U.S. 63 trailer home at Houston.

When the officer arrived, lights were on in the kitchen and living room area, but the lights quickly went out and the sound of running could be heard inside the trailer and nobody would open the door. The deputy and a Missouri Highway Patrol trooper who also responded believed people inside ran out the back door and dispersed into an adjacent field.

•A deputy was dispatched to a County Line Road residence at Mountain Grove Nov. 8 after a man who lives there reported that he was unable to make contact with a 42-year-old man who was his good friend.

The man told the officer the friend was the type of person who couldn’t live without his phone, so it was odd that he couldn’t contact him. He also stated the friend was going through a break-up with his girlfriend and he was concerned about his well-being.

The officer was later informed the friend had gone out of state with his brother.

•A 59-year-old Licking man called Nov. 7 and requested someone to talk to at his Deer Run Drive residence.

The man told an investigating officer he was upset and his 36-year-old daughter was being mean to him. He said he and his daughter are always yelling at each other and his wife always takes her side.

The deputy spoke to the daughter and she said her dad had become a more aggressive person ever since he had surgery. Both parties declined to complete a voluntary statement.

•A Summersville man reported on Oct. 29 that a Savage 25-06 rifle had been swiped from his Highway 17 residence.

An investigating officer determined the man’s wife had the gun. The man requested that the officer charge his wife with stealing. The officer advised the man he couldn’t because the weapon was marital property.
