The Houston school board made a handful of employment decisions last Tuesday during its monthly meeting.

The board accepted the resignation of paraprofessional Sherry Walser, who is retiring at the end of the current school year.

Karen Parker was hired as an elementary teacher due to critical shortage. Norma Robbins (bus driver) and Sara Anderson (high school cheerleading sponsor) were also hired for the 2018-19 school year.

A motion to hire Terry Haden-Burch as a paraprofessional died due to a lack of a second.
