Charlie Edward Tune, 80, of St. Charles, passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2018.
He was born Jan. 23,1938, in Summersville to Uhl and Geraldine Tune. He was married to Ruby Hall on June 15, 1958, and they were married for 60 years.
Charlie was a member of Teamsters Local 600 and worked in the trucking industry for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby; and sons, Bryan and Darrin, both of St. Charles; and three grandchildren.
Also surviving are siblings, Ellen Wright of St. Charles, Ruby Pitts of Summersville, Carol Tune of Hawaii, Darrell and Gary Tune, Summersville; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents along with two brothers, Lester and Robert; three sisters, Genieve Sykes, Betty Foshe and Margaret Francis; and two infant sisters, Norma Jean and Joyce Ann.
He accepted Jesus as his savior early in life and attended First Assembly of God Church in St. Charles for more than 40 years. In retirement, he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed participating in fishing tournaments. Once his wife retired, they became involved with doing volunteer projects through their church and spent several weeks a year at the Real Life Children’s Ranch in Okeechobee, Fla. Along with volunteering, they enjoyed working for the St. Louis Cardinals during spring training in Jupiter, Fla., for 12 seasons.
Services were 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, with Rev. Gary Steelman officiating. Interment was in Oakside Cemetery under the care of Bradford Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at bradfordfuneralhome.net.
