A county man is charged with three felonies after a Texas County Sheriff’s Department investigation on Thursday.
Sheriff Scott Lindsey reported that a deputy responded in the evening to a possible drug overdose at a residence on Highway AW near Plato. A man later identified as George M. Fletcher, 65, of Plato was found to be under the influence of drugs. The responding deputy observed drug paraphernalia, a substance believed to be methamphetamine, marijuana and handguns in the immediate vicinity of Fletcher.
Fletcher admitted to using controlled substances. He was arrested and transported to the Texas County Jail with a bond set at $250,000.
Texas County Prosecuting Attorney Parke Stevens Jr. charged Fletcher with felony possession of a controlled substance and two counts of felony unlawful use or possession of a weapon. Â
