A retail store with a hippie flare opens this Sunday in the Samoa area southeast of Houston.
Owned and operated by Nina Connolly, Grammy’s Psychedelic Shack offers clothing, incense, essential oils, black light posters, “animal-free” soaps, tapestries, jewelry, home décor, “freaky” antiques and much more.
“There are lots of things here for that hard-to-buy-for hippie in your life,” Connolly said.
Connolly has done tie-died clothing professionally for years, and has numerous choices on display in the store.
Many of the soaps, perfumes, incense and other items are Song of India brand products.
Grammy’s Psychedelic Shack is at 5583 Samoa Road and is open from 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays, and by appointment. Swain will host a grand opening from 1 to 5 p.m. this Sunday (Dec. 9). Christmas cookies, fudge, tea and other goodies will be offered, and there will be four drawings for a small tapestry.
For more information, or to make an appointment, call Connolly at 417-932-6947. Grammy’s Psychedelic Shack offers a variety of incense and essential oils.
