The Houston Rural Fire Department responded to a fire Sunday night that burned a trailer home to the ground on at 9187 Highway 17 at Bucyrus.
Houston Rural Chief Don Gaston said the blaze was actually a controlled burn, and that nobody lived in the structure and its owners had emptied it of all worthwhile items.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted with traffic.
