Military veteran

James David Ferguson, 82, of Houston, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, at his home.

He was born March 3, 1936, in Raymondville, son of Clarence and Susie Copeland Ferguson. He and Barbara Ann Skaggs were married in September 1960.

He served abroad in the Army. He then worked in the auto body business and was an auxiliary officer in the Eureka Police Department.

In his later years, he enjoyed spending time at the senior center with his friends. He loved pool and shuffleboard.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Barbara Ann.

Survivors include three children, William “Bill” Ferguson of Raymondville, Suzanne Diekmann of Union and Todd Ferguson of High Ridge; and other family members.

Memorial services were Friday, Nov. 30, at Houston First Baptist Church with Pastor Russ Stigall officiating. Services were under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.
