Two Licking men each face a pair of felony charges and are in the Texas County Jail on $500,000 bond related to a Nov. 24 burglary at a Licking woman’s house.
James D. Nix, 31, of 120 Brook Street, Apt. 2, and Timothy S. Vestal, 28, of 17560 Boone Creek Road, are each charged with first-degree burglary (a class B felony), stealing a firearm (a class D felony) and misdemeanor stealing.
According to a report from by investigating Texas County Sheriff’s Department deputy, the door to the victim’s home was kicked in when nobody was home, and a rifle, two computers and several small items were stolen. After an investigation, Nix and Vestal were arrested and taken into custody. During questioning, each reportedly admitted to a role in the burglary.
Nix and Vestal sold the swiped items at another residence on the evening of Nov. 24, and a witness to the sale recognized the goods as belonging to the victim. The witness reportedly then called the victim’s granddaughter.
All of the stolen items have been recovered, according to a report.
