The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A deputy was dispatched Dec. 15 regarding a report of two juveniles stealing items at a Cloverdale Road residence at Cabool.

A 36-year-old woman who lives there told the officer she saw two boys walking through a field pulling a cart with several swiped items on it and confronted them. The officer spoke with the boys – ages 16 and 13 – and the younger one said he was not involved in the theft, but the older one said both boys broke into two sheds and took several items. He said they found a cart, placed items on it and tried to leave through a field in an attempt to not be seen.

A report was sent to the county juvenile office.

•A deputy on Dec. 15 investigated a report of three abandoned residences being broken into on Rocky Top Road and Morgan Road at Elk Creek.

A 46-year-old man who owns the homes with his brother said doors were damaged but nothing was known to be missing. There are no suspects.

•A deputy was dispatched Dec. 6 regarding a report of a disturbance at a Mineral Drive residence at Houston.

Upon arrival, the officer observed a 46-year-old man sitting in a chair in the driveway screaming at his wife. The woman told the officer the man was drunk and had been standing in the roadway before the officer’s arrival.

After speaking with both parties, the man was taken to jail for a 12-hour safe keeping period.

•On Dec. 8, two deputies were dispatched to a Boone Creek Road residence at Licking after a Mountain View man reported finding a vehicle of his that had been stolen.

The man, 33, told the officers his 30-year-old former girlfriend had swiped the 2000 Ford Explorer from his house, along with several other items and his dog. All of the stolen goods and the dog were recovered, but the suspect was not found. Investigation continues.
