The Licking Police Department investigated an assault Thursday.

A Licking Police Department investigation of an incident on Thursday has led to a pair of felony assault charges against a Rolla woman.

Amy D. Enloe, 31, is charged with two counts of second-degree domestic assault (a class D felony).

The Licking Police Department was dispatched at about 9:15 a.m. regarding a report of an assault at a North Friend St. apartment. The officer made contact there with a woman who was holding a washcloth over her right eye and actively bleeding from wounds on her face and right hand. The woman told the officer her daughter – Enloe – had punched her and bitten her during a dispute and then fled when a call was placed to 911.

The officer said he located Enloe in an apartment at the same complex, and she also displayed physical evidence of a fight. The officer was advised that Enloe had an active warrant, and she was arrested and taken to the Texas County Jail.

While there, the officer gave Enloe the chance to tell her side of the story about the incident at her mom’s residence, but she declined.

The officer returned to the mother’s apartment, and she reportedly stated that after some yelling between her and her daughter, Enloe came at her and punched her in the face several times. The woman said she threw Enloe down on the couch, and Enloe then bit her on her body and face.

The woman reportedly said she got in one punch in self-defense, and kids in the apartment started screaming, including a 12-year-old girl who was telling Enloe to stop. Enloe then kicked the girl in the stomach, the woman said, causing pain and risk of injury, according to a report.
