Donna Jean Orchard, 72, passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018.
She was born May 18, 1946, in Texas County, daughter of Frank Dean and Thelma Brooks.
She enjoyed playing cards, going to flea markets, cooking out and camping. She especially enjoyed watching shows about Alaska. She also loved spoiling her grandchildren.
She raised her children under difficult circumstances, helped care for her elderly mother and cared for her husband, Jimmy, during his long battle with cancer.
She loved the Lord. She enjoyed putting the needs of others before herself.
She preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James “Jimmy” Orchard; a son, Kenneth Martin; a granddaughter; and a sister, Veda Johnson.
Survivors include three daughters, Debbie Bland of Houston, Terry Wilkins of Orlando, Fla., and Amanda Hayes of Kimberling City; two sons, Ted Martin of West Plains and David Orchard of Marceline; nine grandchildren; a great-grandson; two sisters, Wanda Orchard of Mountain View and Fonda Dean of West Plains; and other family members.
No formal services are planned. A family gathering will be held in the spring.
