A coat of snow and ice caused accidents that injured three in Texas County and knocked out power for some, authorities said.
Intercounty Electric, the Licking-based cooperative, reported power had been restored in Texas County after work by linemen over the last 24 hours. A map showed the outages throughout the county as limbs weighed down by ice began to fall and crews immediately went to work to restore service. The total in Mountain Grove and Texas County had been as high as 2,000 at one point.
There were two reported accidents in the county — north of Houston and south of Licking — that left three injured Friday.
Texas County remains under a flood warning, as well as a winter storm warning.
The storm closed schools on Friday and postponed activities in the county.
