Recent fundraising efforts were recognized by the Houston Community Foundation that will provide opportunities for scholarships.
An anonymous donation of about $57,000 will initially fund the Houston Community Foundation Medical Scholarship and Houston Community Vocational Scholarship.
Applications will soon be available.
The group also announced that representatives of its local affiliates will gather next month for a dinner meeting with Brian Fogle, president of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks. The Houston Community Foundation and its affiliates have assets totaling about $600,000.
