Max “Junior” James Wade Jr., 86, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019.
He was born June 17, 1932, in Tribune, son of Max and Mabel Firestine Wade. He and Frances Eckert were married July 5, 1952, in Salem, Ark.
He worked as a carpenter and laborer for most of his life. Later in life, he ran and lived on a dairy farm in Huggins. He retired in 1992.
He loved to hunt and tell stories.
He was saved at a revival at Roby Baptist Church in 1980. He and his wife, Frances, were members of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mountain Grove. He loved to serve his God.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bud Wade; and a sister, Melba Sliger.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Frances Wade of the home; four sons, Donald Wade of Bucyrus, Ronnie Wade of Mountain Grove, Lonnie Wade of Cabool and Kenneth Wade of China; two daughters, Vivian Bowen of Columbia and Beth Phifer of Reeds Spring; two brothers, Maurice Wade of Licking and Roy Wade of Union; two sisters, Peggy Ward of Springfield and Ruth Wheeler of House Springs; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery.
