An area organization is seeking to recruit additional male volunteers during the next month.
Court Appointed Special Advocates — CASA — of South Central Missouri is part of a national organization of volunteers who are appointed by judges to speak for the safety and well-being of abused and neglected children.
Maries, Pulaski, Phelps and Texas counties comprise the 25th Judicial Circuit in the state. In 2018, there were 687 children in the judicial system in the circuit. CASA of South Central Missouri was able to advocate for 256 of those children, 37 percent. More volunteers are needed, organizers said.
Interested community members are encouraged to contact the main office at 573-426-5437 or email info@casascmo.org or visit www.casascmo.org for additional information.
