A Plato man was injured Saturday, Jan. 5, in an accident east of his hometown, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

A Plato man was seriously injured late Saturday afternoon in a crash east of Plato on Highway 32.

Sgt. George Falterman said a westbound 1994 Ford one-ton pickup driven by David J. Powers, 38, ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, returned to the highway and overturned. Powers was trapped, and extrication was requested about one mile east of Plato. The Roby Fire Department responded to the scene.

Powers, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported by ambulance to Phelps Health in Rolla.

The vehicle was totaled, Falterman said.
