Sales tax revenue collected in 2018 increased in Texas County, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.

Texas County merchants collected more sales tax in 2018 than the previous year, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.

The tally from three half-cent sales taxes was about $1.06 million on each, up about $11,470 on each from 2017. That’s up about 1 percent from the previous year.

In December, the revenue from the sales taxes took a significant decline, down about $24,000 from the previous year ago period on each tax. The total on each was about $84,210.

A bright spot for county finances was revenue from a use tax on internet sales. For a partial year, the county collected $74,862. Voters approved the tax in April.
