Houston senior Dawson Koch was honored for his excellence on both the athletic field and in the classroom by earning a spot on the 2018 Missouri Football Coaches Association academic all-state team.
To be nominated, players must be a starter in at least 70 percent of their team’s games while scoring a 25 or higher on the ACT, achieving at least a 3.5 grade-point average and ranking in the top 10 percent of their class.
Koch, a starting offensive lineman for HHS, was named honorable mention all-conference in November. He was part of a unit that led the way for the Tigers’ 1,779 rushing yards in 2018 and allowing just five sacks on 93 pass attempts.
