William George Hall, 82, left this world and entered the kingdom of heaven on Jan. 7, 2019, at his son’s home in Lebanon, Mo., with family by his side. He was born Feb. 12, 1936, in Princeton, Mo., to George and Eulah (Rogers) Hall.
Bill grew up in Princeton, Mo., and when he was a teenager his family moved to the Plato area. He graduated from Plato High School. After graduation, he joined the United States Army to serve his country. He was honorably discharged May 16, 1958.
He iwass preceded in death by his parents; a former wife, Kay Hall; and stepchildren, Kenneth Vaughan and Jerri Bossard.
Bill was an active member of the Plato Baptist Church for many years. He married Laura Vaughan on Nov. 25, 2002, and they enjoyed each other’s company for over 15 years.
Bill is survived by his wife, Laura Hall of the home in Plato, Mo.; his children, Troy Hall and wife, Rita, of Lynchburg, Mo., Glenda Mays and husband, Ron, of Springfield, Mo., and Brian Hall and wife, Diana, of Lebanon, Mo.; two stepchildren, Patty Berry and husband, Robert Serino, of Elicott City, Md., and Robert Vaughan and wife, Traci, of Huggins, Mo.; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Calvin Hall and wife, Glennis, of Springfield, Mo., Kenny Hall and wife, Carol, of Plato, Mo., and Phillip Hall and wife, Rose, of Cape Fair, Mo.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a stickler for keeping his yard looking nice. He also was an avid gardener, always sharing his produce with friends and family. Bill was a people person. He always enjoyed visiting with his family and friends, making each of them feel special and loved.
Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is now enjoying the beauty of heaven and joining the ones that were waiting for him there.
Services were Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, at Plato Baptist Church with Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial was in Stark Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Travis Hall, Trenton Hall, Nick Mays, Larry Flewelling, Wayne Madison Jr. and Wayne Madison Sr. Honorary pallbearers were Willie Winkler and Emily Hall.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to Stark Cemetery in Bill’s memory.
