Nicole Maring and Ryan Meier

A man and woman from the Kansas City area are each charged with multiple felonies after an investigation Tuesday involving the Texas County Sheriff’s Department and Licking Police Department.

Nicole Maring, 36, of Independence, and Ryan Meier, 33, of Kansas City, Mo., are each charged with possession of a controlled substance and first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle (both class D felonies). Maring is also charged with delivery or possession of a controlled substance at a county jail (also a class D felony).

According to report, both a county and Licking officer responded after a gray 2007 Ford F-150 reported stolen out of Kansas City was found blocking Highway 137 near the Boone Creek Cemetery after apparently running out of gas. During an investigation, Maring and Meier were determined to be the occupants of the truck. A search revealed a container with methamphetamine inside, as well as a digital scale and a syringe in a bag.

The two suspects were taken to the Texas County Jail. During the booking process, Maring was found to have two items containing meth concealed in her bra, according to a report.

The stolen truck was towed. Maring and Meier are each held on $150,000 bond.
