The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Houston Police Department:
•Lori L. Strong, 49, of 1247 Ozark St. in Houston, was cited for driving while suspended on March 2.
An officer who knew Strong’s license was suspended wrote the ticket after observing her driving a maroon Ford Focus on U.S. 63 and making a traffic stop of the vehicle on Highway 17.
•Eric J. Buell, 35, of 1435 Thomasville Road, No. 4, in Houston, was issued citations for fourth-degree domestic assault and resisting arrest after an incident at his residence involving a 36-year-old woman at about 2:15 a.m. Feb. 26.
An officer responded to the location after an anonymous caller reported an incident was occurring. During an investigation, Buell reportedly refused to comply with the officer’s commands. The officer deployed a taser, which slowed Buell, but he continued resisting and was taken to the floor by the officer. He was ultimately handcuffed and taken to jail for a 12-hour hold period.
•Joseph E. Chapman, 37, of 716 Ozark St. in Houston, was cited for careless and imprudent driving on Feb. 21 after allegedly passing a vehicle on Bryan Street while traveling at a high rate at about 7 p.m.
•Brian K. Lancaster, 43, of 706 W. Ozark St., Apt. 3, in Houston, was issued citations for driving while intoxicated – prior offender, driving while revoked and no operable tail light after a traffic stop on Highway 17 at about 1:05 a.m. Feb. 24.
An officer made the stop after observing a white Cadillac with a tail light out traveling on U.S. 63, and then noticing the vehicle weaving, moving slowly and having its brake lights on almost continually. After making contact with the driver, the officer smelled alcohol and field sobriety tests were conducted.
Lancaster was taken to jail, fingerprinted and then given a courtesy ride to his residence. A breath test done at about 1:45 a.m. revealed his blood alcohol content level was .220.
•Rebecca S. Fountain, 50, of 303 Broadway St. in Houston, was arrested Feb. 21 for having an active Texas County warrant for felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. An officer who knew of the warrant made the arrest at Fountain’s residence at about 4:10 p.m.
She was taken to the Texas County Jail where she was unable to post $75,000 bond.
