Numerous items were seized as evidence during a Licking Police Department investigation on Thursday.

A Licking man and woman were arrested Thursday on several drug and weapons charges after a Licking Police Department investigation.

According to a report, an LPD officer was dispatched to a business on West Highway 32 for a domestic disturbance. During an investigation, a plain view find of drug paraphernalia led to a short-term narcotics investigation revealing a semi-automatic .22 caliber pistol and several drug-related items.

Located in the same room as the gun were pre-packaged bags containing methamphetamine, syringes, marijuana, marijuana cigarettes, scales, measuring devices and morphine pills. All the items were seized as evidence.

As a result, Christopher L. Hawkins, 40, and Cora J. Smith, 28, both of Licking, were arrested for delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia – amphetamines or methamphetamine, unlawful use of a weapon, possessing a weapon and a felony controlled substance, armed criminal action and possession of marijuana – 10 grams or less

Probable cause statements will be forwarded to the Texas County prosecutor seeking formal charges.
