MARK KELEISE

A Plato man is charged with a pair of felonies after allegedly assaulting a woman on Tuesday.

Mark Keleise, 31, of 12366 Cardinal Road, is charged with second-degree domestic assault and kidnapping (both class D felonies).

A Texas County Sheriff’s Department deputy reported that a call was received from the woman, who was at Mercy Hospital in Lebanon Keleise had assaulted her at her residence beginning at 2:30 a.m. until he left about 5:30 a.m.

The woman told the officer Keleise pulled her out of bed, kicked her in the back, shoved her into a closet and choked her until she lost consciousness. She said she was then placed on a couch and told to stay, and that if she tried to get up, Keleise would tell her she wasn’t going anywhere.

The woman told the officer Keleise, who had been released from prison and moved in with her on March 6, finally left on foot.

The deputy observed several abrasions and a few lacerations on the woman’s face, neck, hands and feet. She said she had others elsewhere on her body. Photographs were taken of the injuries.

Keleise is held in the Texas County Jail on $250,000 bond.
